About us:

The Wilf Ward Family Trust is a registered charity, based in Yorkshire, with over 30 years of experience. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding support for adults with learning disabilities, complex health needs and life limiting conditions.

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers in the York area. We have positions available across different services in this area, with various hours available also.

Which of our services would you like to work in and offers what you are looking for?

Clifton

The 5 individuals that live in these 2 services are able bodied and extremely lively! They go out to numerous activities almost every day. This includes places such as, Hands & Voices, Arts & Crafts, Bowls & cinema trips. They require support with everyday tasks some aspects of self-care, but they are empowered by our fantastic support team to live as independently as possible. We have sleep in duties that are required in both services and there is an element of lone working.

New Earswick

One service supports 4 mature ladies who have various needs, 2 ladies are wheelchair users and need support in all aspects of transfers. The other 2 ladies are independent in most areas and need very little support but a lot of emotional support.

Our second service is home to 2 amazing individuals, who have lived here, semi–independently for around 10 years. The residents who live here are supported by a small, dedicated team, who are committed to delivering independence and supporting with social activities. There is an element of lone working and sleep ins are required.

Our third service supports 5 people in their own flats, they have a varied level of support needs that does include moving and handling. They are all wheelchair users so require support with most aspects of their daily living however they can communicate and let you know how they want to be supported.

Huntington

In this service, 2 gentlemen live here and are supported by a largely experienced, established, and dedicated team, who are committed to delivering outstanding support and complex dementia care. There is an element of moving and handling support and there is a requirement for sleep in duties in this service.
