JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title : Yard Operative
Reports to : Yard Manager
Key responsibilities : To assist in all aspects of the Yard Operation within the branch. To serve trade and retail customers, to make up orders, to unload and load delivery vehicles and maintain the general housekeeping in the branch.
Location : Kelvin Timber - Milngavie
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Deal with all customer collections relating to material stocked by Kelvin Timber
* Operate Kelvin Timber plant and machinery in a safe and responsible manner
* Maintain and build relationships with customers
* General housekeeping of the aforementioned area to ensure all products and display areas are adequately stocked and in a clean and presentable manner
* Load and unload supplier and Kelvin Timber delivery vehicles
* Work within other departments as requested to meet customer demands
* Participate in company stock takes ensuring an accurate count of all stock
* Any other tasks as required to ensure the efficient operation of the department as requested by the Management

Experience and skills
Previous experience in a Builders / Timber Merchant is essential.
