Workshop Production Assistant


 

Due to the continued strong interest in boats and boating, we have a vacancy for a person with a genuine interest in developing a career in the marine industry. We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic, and outgoing individual to strengthen our workshop team, providing both practical and administrative support to facilitate production and support our workshop manager.

A varied post, the role requires the collection, collation and gathering of information from boats, equipment, customers, and suppliers for assisting with quoting for repair work as well as being a front facing role for the company, answering the telephone, talking to customers, taking work instructions and providing customers with updates in liaison with the engineers and workshop manager.

The chosen applicant's key duties will include: -

Booking in, checking over and handing over engines and boats.

Monitoring job progress first-hand and completion of daily/weekly calculation of timesheet codes and hours.

Collation and completion of job reports and job updates.

Obtaining customer feedback, providing customer updates. Update customer information and re- book work in a timely manner.

Entering parts onto order system.

Updating data accurately on bespoke computer software.

Filing and updating of records, data entry onto manufacturers/ suppliers’ websites.

Administration of dry stack database, data entry and customer calls and emails.

Support the implementation of safe working practices.

Whilst being comfortable with the practical aspects of the job, the post holder must also be an effective communicator both internally and externally at all levels and have excellent customer service and time management skills. Attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with the ability to work in a busy and demanding environment is essential as well as good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word.

Full-time position Monday – Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm and willingness to contribute to seasonal Saturday morning rota as required.
